Capsule Hotels To Check Out In Malaysia!

Small, safe and affordable, capsule hotels were first built in Japan to cater for budget travellers. Capsules hotels have now become increasingly popular even in Malaysia!

But first, what does a capsule hotel offer? Rather than the standard hotel room, it accommodates small capsules about the length and width of a single bed, with sufficient height for the guest to sit up in bed. If the capsules are stacked up, steps or ladders provide access to the upper level, similar to bunk beds. A curtain or door provides privacy.

Currently, capsule hotels can be found in several areas, including the greater Klang Valley area and various other states all over Malaysia.

Here are some that might tickle your fancy!

The Bed KLCC | Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Placed within KL’s Golden Triangle, The Bed KLCC is a capsule co-living accommodation at affordable prices.

Built with an investment of RM20 million, The Bed KLCC opened its doors on Oct 12, 2017, and can accommodate 170 guests in six types of capsules or pods. These include single pod side entry (female), single pod side entry (mixed gender), single pod front entry (mixed gender), king pod or family pod, single pod suite and queen pod suite.

The single pods are 40 sq ft, and the suites are 150 sq ft. Rates start from RM69 per pod per night to RM139. Complimentary breakfast and regular housekeeping are included in the price.

Although guests stay in a dormitory-like set-up and share washroom and shower facilities, they have some privacy in their respective pods, thanks to retractable blinds. Each pod or suite is provided with an internet connection, a USB charging port, universal charging points, LED lighting, a multipurpose foldable table, a mirror and a locker.
