Nusa Penida Snorkelling + Mangrove Day Tour

Snorkelling is one of the most popular marine tourism activities that many vacationists are interested in joining while travelling to Bali’s island. Being a tropical island, Bali has numerous locations to go snorkelling. It can sometimes be challenging to choose from the many areas. One of the most popular snorkelling locations around Bali is the islands of Nusa Penida.

So many international divers are interested in snorkelling or diving in the waters of Nusa Bali. The seas between Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan have magnificent underwater views. When you dive or snorkel in Nusa Penida, you will see the underwater scenery, such as healthy coral reefs and various aquatic life.

Excellent or lousy coral reef conditions, depending on where you dive in Nusa Penida. According to the Coral Triangle Center website, there are 296 species of coral reefs and 576 species of reef fish in the Nusa Penida waters. However, most of the coral reef conditions in Nusa Penida are still healthy.

You will most likely see underwater biota while snorkelling or diving, such as Green Sea Turtles, Manta Rays, Rainbow Eels, Mola-Mola, and Frogfish.

Several snorkelling spots on the Nusa Penida island offer relatively calm ocean currents. However, the flows can change at any time. Also, visibility while snorkelling is pretty good, around 10 to 20 meters during the day, especially during the Bali dry season.

Manta Point
The location of Manta Bay is in the west of the island of Nusa Penida. Manta Bay is the most famous Nusa Penida Snorkeling Spot. It is interesting to many people to do snorkelling activities, and there are many manta rays around the sea. The size also varies, from minor to measuring more than 1 meter. Manta rays are very friendly with humans who snorkel at the Manta Bay spot. Do not touch manta rays because it can damage the skin of manta rays because manta rays are very sensitive.

Toyapakeh Wall Point
Besides being a superb dive spot, the Toyapakeh Wall Point is one of the most beautiful Nusa Penida snorkelling places too! The wide variety of fish and extensive coral colonies make the Toyapakeh Wall Point snorkeller’s favourite reef. Large pelagic species like Mola Mola fish are regular visitors here.

Mangrove Point
The Mangrove Point Nusa Lembongan is one of the famous snorkelling locations in Bali. Mangrove Point is located at the northern end of the Jungut Batu Village in Nusa Lembongan.

The current conditions here are very light. Nusa Lembongan Mangrove Point is an easy drift snorkeling. The drift snorkelling on Mangrove Point is simply floating passively while using snorkelling gear and allowing the weak currents to carry you across the seawater and explore a colourful underwater.

Nusa Penida’s climate is very similar to mainland Bali’s weather, so to answer the best time to visit Nusa Penida is to check out Bali’s climate chart. The Nusa Islands get less rain than Bali. You have the highest chance for sunny and dry weather from May through mid-November. This period is perfect if you want to explore the land attractions and Nusa Penida snorkelling spots.
