Going to Zoo Negara is always an enjoyable time, especially when you can look at the variety of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fishes while catching up with your friends or family. Animal lovers, here’s what you should know about Zoo Negara.
This zoo prides on its two lovable pandas, Xing Xing and Liang Liang. Despite their small size, these two bears can mount up a huge appetite, spending up to 20 hours a day eating, and eating as much as 9-20 kg of bamboo shoots. Talk about big eats! Also, who can really resist such adorable pandas?
It is also worth noting the Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium. Serving as another popular tourist attraction in Zoo Negara, this aquarium boasts over 80 unique species of sea animals, both marine and freshwater. It is definitely not one to miss when one holds a Zoo Negara entrance ticket. This is accessible with the Zoo Negara entrance ticket.

We love it! It’s easy to get in, they just scan the qr and generate us a ticket, fast and efficient. We spent time at the zoo from 11 am to 5 pm. The staffs are nice, huge variety of animals. Love seeing the pandas and the animal show.

a lot of the animal shelters are in bad hygiene conditions, some of the animals have bad skin conditions as well, hopefully these animals health are being taken care of. The toilets are also very dirty and need many improvements. The only place that is well maintained is the panda shelter. The rest i think really need alot of attention especially the aquarium sector alot of fish are dead as well leaving the aquarium empty, the info labels were also in very bad condition.

Redeem tickets are fast and easy. No long queue. But too many visitors, i would say no sop – no social distance during animal show. The cleanliness almost ok due to some spots are spoilt with rubbish. Maybe could allocate more recycle bins. Can see waste/ rubbish in the drains too. Overall, the visit is worth. My children enjoy it very much.

1.Tandas di Zoo Negara sangat teruk.Ada 3,hanya satu yang boleh guna.2 lagi ada najis dan air tersumbat.Memalukan.Tahun 2021,tandas macam di tahun 1960.Tiada petugas kebersihan ke? I’m visiting Zoo Negara with all my family members. It was their 1st visit and 2nd for us after last visit 13 years ago. I must say Zoo Negara has changed a lot in a good way. The staffs are so friendly & warm. The cleanliness and animals are in a good shape. I hope in a future for a better visitor experience, the tram’s ticket is already included in an entrance ticket so we save our time to queue again for the tram’s ticket & at any point we can hoop into the tram at anytime. I do hope to see more TLC for the surau. Keep up a good work.

Make sure to get the tram tickets, the park is hot and far to walk. Easily 30 mins from entrance to panda place, worst if you have to carry toddlers. Bring your strollers and go at 3pm. Don’t go at 12noon. Nothing much to see with fee animals. Tram route is not optimized hence you hardly see animals, though it saves u walking time.

I just wish the zoo management can upgrade their facilities for visitors, as basic as a clean and functional public toilets (especially the ladies, near entrance gate)

All the animals were on display in a natural habitat theme which was unique and intriguing. It seems the animals are getting the care they need. The amphitheatre show was also great. However, there was some problem with the time management by the zoo staff. The zoo closes at 5 pm. I reached the Malayan Tiger, White Bengal Tiger and African Lion Section at around 4:15 pm but all these animals were already kept back in their shelters by the staff. It was disappointing to not be able to see them. There was also no information on them putting the animals indoors before zoo visiting end-time.

The experience was OK types… We did had that enthusiastic feeling we had before visiting it. Being a National Zoo it should be clean and beautiful even for animal. The claim procedure for e-ticket was fast and easy. The Zoo could include the buggy ride service into their ticket price since charging RM5 per head (children also same price) will turn many customer away and a free buggy ride will become another attraction for the children.
