SANTIKA MUSICAL VILLAGE

Located in a district called Hulu Langat, in the province of Selangor, lies Santika Hulu Langat, where you can experience Santika Musical Village. Here, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the serene village environment and the unique traditional Austronesian cultures such as the Malay, Javanese and Sundanese. Learn to experience the authentic kampung livelihood and culture with its local people.

SANTIKA BREAKFAST (PACKAGE 1)

Traditional Buffet Breakfast
Enjoy a Malaysian breakfast spread highlighting Malay food. Savour the country’s national delight, the nasi lemak with its fragrant rice and spicy sambal with a hint of sweetness before proceeding to generous helpings of Lontong, a dish with compressed rice cakes in a rich coconut broth full of vegetables. Have your taste buds explode with flavours as you dig into the Curry Mee and Mee Jawa, both flavourful that every spoon you take is robusted with aromas of coconut milk and other spices.

Angklung Interactive
Enjoy an amazing performance by Santika’s own musician who plays the traditional Sundanese instrument made out of bamboo, the Angklung. What’s even more fascinating, he is the only professional Angklung player in Malaysia. Don’t be shy to request your favorite song to be played by him. You could ask him to play one of your favourite songs. Sometimes, it is even more satisfying when you experience playing the angklung yourself. Lucky for you, you will have that opportunity to hold the Angklung yourself and make a few songs, guided by the in-house musician.

Congkak Game
Challenge yourself and friends with the traditional Congkak, the once popular pastime in Peninsular Malaya, Borneo and Indonesia. Makes sense if you think about it as back in the days before the internet, iPads, Playstation and other forms of electronic entertainment, both children and adults had to find means of entertainment. Interestingly enough, congkak is mainly a mental calculation game where a good player would have an advantage in collecting points to win the game when they can calculate a few steps in advance.

Batik Colouring
Experience a piece of Malaysian culture during this batik colouring workshop. Get hands on and fill in colours on a fabric. A stress-free and completely relaxing activity that gets you creative and brings friends and family closer. There’s certainly a charm to batik colouring as it brings out the joy inside of you that has been stifled by stress.

MAGICAL DAY TOUR (PACKAGE 2)

Santika Breakfast
Help yourself to a lovely spread of authentic and local homemade delights. From the all-time-favourites such as the Nasi Lemak, Lontong, and Roti Jala. Then wolf down on the Curry Mee or Mee Jawa, both equally rich dishes with a delightful savoury curry broth. It’s sure best eaten hot. Then cool off with some sweetness with the local sweet treats concocted with natural goodness.

Traditional Games
Experience local board games such as Congkak, Batu Seremban and Ceper, notably the favourite pastime that Malaysians enjoyed back then. While technology has advanced through the years, and social media and electronic gadgets seem to be a new and preferable pastime, the people living in rural areas are still fond of playing traditional games. In fact, traditional games are the go-to activities for the kampung residents as they find leisure with this and a way to bond with one another.

Lunch
Lunch will be served and you’ll be able to enjoy traditional music in the background. Perhaps you could taste the Javanese rice dish called Nasi Ambeng and Nasi Tumpeng or have a taste of grilled freshwater fishes at a local dining. Who knows what kind of surprise the locals will whip up for you? One thing’s for sure, it’s bound to remind you of home and comfort.

Magical Herbs Session with Forestry Expert
