Manado Highland Day Tour

Get on board this fun tour to explore the City of Manado in North Sulawesi and visit some of its unique tourist attractions. Don’t miss the chance to visit the 4th tallest Christ statue in the world, the Jesus Blessing Monument, and see its magnificence up close. After that, you can unwind at Linouw lake and enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake.

Manado is the capital city of North Sulawesi province and has become an exciting city to visit for its tourism destination. At the same time, the location is located at the Bay of Manado and is surrounded by a mountainous area.

Manado sits surrounded by mountains along the Bay of Manado, and its natural beauty makes it a popular destination for ecotourists. It’s the second-largest city on the island of Sulawesi and acts as the capital of the North Sulawesi province.

The people make the town seem like that. The people of Manado are intriguing – generations of immigrants mixed with the Manadonese – Dutch, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Indian, and many others, making the local population very special. Additional influence comes from the not-far-away Philippines. Many of the Minahasan people have Dutch first names, and many also have a Dutch last name. In some ways, the Manadonese look more Latino than East Asian, with dark skin, curly hair, brown eyes and choleric characteristics. But they are also easy-going, emotional, sympathetic, and happy people.

Giant Statue Of Jesus

The Giant Statue of Jesus is a 50-metre-tall monument in Manado, Indonesia. It consists of a 30-metre-tall soapstone sculpture of Jesus Christ built over a 20-metre-tall pedestal, made of steel and fibre. This attraction is located at the Citra Land Residential Estate.

The Giant Statue of Jesus is dedicated to the North Sulawesi Society and the people of Manado. A real estate developer conceptualised the idea to build this statue when he was exploring the site with his wife. It cost over INR 5 billion (Indonesian Dollar) and took about three years to build. What’s unique about this attraction is that the statue is the first tallest statue in the world and levitates with a 20-degree downward slope.

Lake Linow

Situated outside Tomohon in Indonesia, the volcanic Lake Linow seems like a place out of fairytales. Owing to its varying chemical compositions, the tranquil lake Linow miraculously changes colours, from dark green to Prussian blue to a brilliant red!

With Mount Mahawu on one side and Mount Lokon on the other, Lake Linow is a popular spot for tourists to relax for an hour or two amid the refreshing environment. Linow, which translates to ‘water gathering place’ in the Minahasa language, is encompassed by thousands of colourful flora, giving it a breathtaking appearance. The sulphur present in fair quantities in the lake may provide a rotten egg odour, so it is best to visit the lake in the early hours when the air is comparatively fresh. There is a restaurant on the banks of the lake offering snacks and coffee/tea.
