Pulau Dayang Bunting (Lake of Pregnant Maiden)
Herein lies the mythical lake on the island of Dayang Bunting that’s popular with its own tales. Its name literally translates to ‘Lake of the Pregnant Maiden’ as it resembles the silhouette of a reclined pregnant lady from afar. It is also believed by the locals that barren women will become fertile after taking a dip in this freshwater lake.
An hour is given for you to soak in the environment here, and that includes a 10 – 12 minutes one-way walk up a long flight of stairs up to the mountain to reach the lake. It gets a little hot too so do bring your water bottles along, wear a sunblock or a hat, anything that works for you! Once you’ve reached the lake, you’ll be blown away by the scenic freshwater lake surrounded by mountains. Interestingly, the lake was formed when a large underwater cave collapsed many years back so you are bound to experience an amazing sight of limestone cliffs that all fall under Pulau Dayang Bunting; the second largest in the 99-island cluster that makes up the Langkawi archipelago.
Here you can indulge in several activities to enrich your experience. Think of what you’d like to explore best. Perhaps you’d like to swim in the cool waters of the lake, or maybe even go solar paddle boating, feel the wind in your hair and cruise in the open water. Perhaps you can unwind and relax with a natural catfish spa, of course they’d nibble and you feel a funny sensation – takes a while to get used to but compelling, nonetheless! Walk through the forest and capture sights of the Miracle Border where a thin rocky bridge separates the lake from the sea, or just lounge on the wooden planks by the lake. See if you can catch sight of some mudskippers! If you’re looking for some refreshments, take a walk around the small shops nearby offering drinks and snacks. Then get a souvenir or two before heading to the next island.
Pulau Singa (Big Lion Island)
Along the waters of the island, the boat takes you to Pulau Singa Besar. Despite the literal translation of its name “Big Lion Island”, Mufasa and Simba are not in sight! In fact, there are no lions around. A fantastic activity of eagle feeding show awaits you and the great part is, you don’t even have to get off the boat! Stopped a distance away from shore and in the midst of the boat rocking with the waves, you will hear the shrills from up above. Raise your head and gaze upon at least a dozen of the magnificent golden-brown eagles soaring freely against the backdrop of cloudy sky! The sight of these birds flying around is rather spectacular. Now although you don’t really partake in feeding the eagles directly, it’s still worth an experience to see how it’s done. The delivery of foods makes them fly in a frenzy. In no time, you will see many of them hovering around and diving for the treats.
Pulau Beras Basah (Wet Rice Island)
The last island of Langkawi Island Hopping Package, where the Pulau Beras Basah offers a relaxing getaway with its pristine beaches and lush green forest. Simply a picturesque island with far reaching views of the sea and wonderful soft white sands, the perfect atmosphere for Instagram-worthy pictures. Cool off from the heat with an invigorating drink and munch on some tasty snacks. If you just want to loosen up, find a shady spot, relax and have the gentle breeze flow your way. Visiting Tasik Dayang Bunting is very exciting but the time spent there (one hour) not enough to do many activity. Seeing the eagles fetching the foods at Pulau Singa Besar was very exciting too. Swimming at Pulau Beras Basah was great. The sceneries very nice and the beach is great. All together very satisfied with the visit.

This my second island hopping. first time follow my sister not using this agent. but this time with this trip agak menggerikan. driver boat macam sengaja bawa laju sangat, sengaja ikut laluan boat depan yang memang ombak tengah kuat. terus tak boleh nak enjoy kat tasik dayang bunting kesan dari pening dan rasa nak termuntah. sangat sedih..kita nak bercuti bukan nak kejar penjenayah nak kena bawak laju², nak nikmati suasana atas boat sambil ambil gambar pun tak boleh. saya ingat dulu follow my sister punya trip best je rasa, sempat ambik gambar lagi atas boat. Suami saya terus pangkah taknak dah aktiviti hopping island nanti. so sad

Boatman didnt provide the steps/ladder to climb up the boat. elderly people had hard time going and down the boat.
Long Queue to purchase entrance ticket to P.Daya Bunting, eat up the 1 hour allocated by the boatmen to go up and down the fresh water lake.

Due to low level of water, adequate arrangements were not made to board the boat. As a result our feet were stuck in the mud. Secondly boat speed could have been slower to avoid the bumps which could have been harmful.

suitable for solo/couple/with friends,since i feel like we’re rushing from one place to another.told to wait 8.30/9am,the boat arrived at 10.,the beras basah beach is beautiful,no eagle feeding,just go there watching the eagles.tasik dayang bunting is the best place for your stamina bcuz have to climb up/down the stairs to reach,(less thn 10min),can do kayaking,swan cycling(not sure the name),with extra charges,plus with entrance fee rm3,all in 1hour.surely not enough time,but still enjoyable.lots of memories created.tqqqq

Good package, friendly boat driver, a bit late of getting into the boat due to waiting other boat passengger to arrive. We start our journey at 9.45 am, 1st we visited tasik dayang bunting (1 hour) with self paid entrance fee rm6 & rm10 (optional) activities such as kayak, swan paddle, swimming, & foot massage. 2nd we visited an island to watch the eagle feeding (only boat driver can feed the eagle) then we watch the eagle fly down to catch the food. Very nice view. 3rd, we visited the pulau beras basah (1 hour), can swim, got self paid activities – banana boat. Got stall selling fresh coconut drinks. But unfortunately, there is no toilet provided in this island. Our tour ends at 1.50pm when we reach back the shore. Tips, free parking or free shuttle from cenang area hotels. Bring extra cash for activities and beverages (optional), you’ll get wet, so bring extra clothes to change after finish all.

Ketiga-tiga tempat yang dikunjungi menarik. Nice view, adaaktiviti air dan tempat habitat yg masih belum terusik. Cuma, group kami kurang berpuas hati dengan layanan pemandu van juga pemandu bot yang membawa kami ke Pulau itu. Dari segi susunan masa. Lambat pick up kami dari hotel. This was a poor experience. The jetty area very run down, shabby and disorganized. The one hour visit on the beach was a waste of time, the food stall on the island was run down, dirty and had lousy food and drinks. There was no talk given by the boat driver, just felt like it was a taxi service. Was glad when it was over.

The person in charge is so friendly and helpful. I’ve called them 1 day before the trip and they responded in time. They picked us up around 8.30am and at 9.00am we directly went to Pulau Dayang Bunting. At Pulau Singa, our boat driver fed the eagle with chicken meat and we can see the eagle at a clear distance. Next we went to Pulau Beras Basah to swim. Overall, me and my friend had a great experience with TripCarte.

First stop is pulau dayang bunting.. From buying tickets and short hike up, and down some stairs, at least 15mins gone.. Went boat peddalling, swimming and 1 hr is up..
Eagle watching was too short too.. Less than 10mins… it will be more interesting, if we are allowed to feed the birds..
3rd stop, pulau beras basah.. Again, only 1 hour.. Too short..

Love the trip, was given a free return pick up from hotel. Trip didn’t start on dot, the trip to dayang bunting should extend another 30 mins, too rush for elderly as they need to walk in. The last island trip should be the first then it wouldn’t be so hot to be on the beach. However overall was great trip.

Best even though we have to wait around 30 minute from the schedule time because of the ‘air pasang’. One hour at Dayang Bunting is not enough since we have to queue to buy ticket and walk to the lake and it take around 20 – 30 minute if you bring elderly. So, we can only spend around 15 – 20 minute there before we start to walk back.

The experience was really good with the island hopping.
What was disappointing was the middle person who was coordinating the boats with the boatman. Do call them in advance to confirm your trips as they may not reply WhatsApps or SMS. If you do not hear a reply from them, then call them. We had to call them many times until we got hold of Tripcarte, who then I believe called the middle man, following which responded to us.
Overall it was a nice experience.

1) 2 hrs minimum should be given in Tasik Dayang bunting as to reach at the lake from jetty almost took 30 minute in & out if you travel with kids plus Challenging with wild monkey left and right of the path to the lake
So you can spend more time with kayaking, boat padling, swimming & more worth for additional payment made for that activity and entrance fee.
2) Min 1.5 hrs should be given at Pulau beras basah. So childrens can spent more time to play sand and etc

I recon give to give more time at Tasik bunting, the distance was take up to 20min plus minus going and return, No point by giving us more time in pulau beras as there is nothing much in the pulau.
I was expecting the eagle feeding will be done by the boat guy based on my past experience, unfortunately it was not, we seeing others boat doing so and can only see from far.

Our trip runs smoothly and the staff was very friendly. However, we only had a short time while visiting Pulau Singa Besar to watch eagle feeding and it will be much better if the boatman brings food for us to experience ourself in feeding the eagles.

Our boatman is a very nice man.
Many activity we can do at Tasik Dayang Bunting, we only paid for RM10 for all activities + life jacket.
Personally, 1hour for each point is enough for us to explore all things there.
Careful with the starving monkeys!

This is a must do activity in Langkawi. It rained just before our trip and we thought our experience might be ruined. But it exceeded our expectations. It actually covers only 2 islands. We are allowed to enter only the 1st island. 2nd island is eagle feeding, you just see eagles from the boat. 3rd island is a small one. Here you can enter the beach and snorkel (but I didnt see much marine life). Then you return to the jetty.
The ride on the speedboat is really good. The ride was really bumpy and the view was spectacular.

I felt like the boatman was in a rush of time as he quickly drove us to he island and left no much time for us to experience the fun and activities in the islands. Quickly rush us back. Depart from jetty after 9am++ and back to the Jerry before 12pm. Spend very little time there.
However, it’s an exciting visit to 3 islands of Langkawi, P. Dayang Bunting, P. Singa Besar & P. Beras Besar. There is a lake in Dayang Bunting Island. Gotta pay RM3 for entrance and RM10 for lake activities like kayak & swan boat. Eagle feeding in P. Singa Besar & water activities by the beach of P. Beras Basah. Do bring extra clothes if you would like to join those activities 🙂

It was an excellent and exciting experience. They were really good with old people and children by ensuring that they have sat in a safer seat as the boat ride was kind of extreme in a good way. The boat driver informed us what to expect before we started so we were really cautious while enjoying it. He also apologised politely for people who sat at the front when the boat was going up and down even though it was unavoidable because of the waves. He made the ride fun and exciting all the way. It was not a full 4 hours session but it was better than what we expected. Highly recommended!

We arrived on time where I was told to wait with others. The waiting time was quite long, almost 30 minutes which defeat the purpose of us arriving early in the morning. On 1st August 2019, my friend and I got on this boat number 455 if I’m not mistaken. The man that handled/drove the boat was very rude. He drove the boat very fast until our back hurt. I am a Malaysian and had ridden boats in Terengganu, kota kinabalu, pangkor and etc but it was never like this. It was the worst experience ever. There were also 2 ladies that were in their 50’s too on the boat which I’m sure they found the journey horrible. Also, every time the man speaks to us, it was like he was mad or something. He was especially rude to the other tourist and kept shouting “HELLO!! HELLOOO!!” a few times to get their attention instead of the polite “Excuse me”. I bet that he likes to drive the boat really fast because he’s young, but he is responsible to make it a pleasant ride for us paying customers and tourist so he should be more considerate. I’m Malaysian and all the time I kept thinking “this is so embarrassing because that’s what tourist from outside Malaysia think of us, rude and inconsiderate”

Management of this company quite worst.. definitely will not take this trip with this host again.. disappoint so much.. i book the trip and it stated that started at 9am.. after the confirmation of booking.. i got the mesej that told me to be at the stated location at 845 or before 9.. then we went there as the time required. When i arrived nobody was there for the host i book.. while the other company were there.. the its oky we wait here.. then thing make me angry as we waited till 930.. nothing were on.. nobody gona tell me and my family which boat to aboard and nothing.. lastly we on boat around 945.. u have totally wasted my time.. surely i wont repurchase again!!!

There are 3 islands
1. Pulau Dayang Bunting:
– This island is the most exiting one, as there is a lake inside and few activities to be enjoyed.
– You have to buy the lake pass and pay for the activities, but it was only RM13 for me, which is still pretty cheap.
– They only give you an hour of free time, and trust me is not enough for anyone who had ever been there.
– The path to the lake will take you around 5 – 15 minutes, hence you only have 30 – 45 mins for activities.
– Try not to bring along any baggage or items, as it will affect your convenience while playing the aqua activities.
2. Pulau Singa:
– Boat drivers will toss out meat for the eagles, so guests can take pictures of them with a closer distance.
– This island is just to witness the majestic eagles flying above your head.
3. Pulau Beras Basah:
– You can rent a banana boat and jet skis at there.
– On this island you are given an hour, mainly for beach swimming.
My personal favourite is canoeing, swimming and boat riding.
Only cons is that time given is too short.
*purchasing tickets from online sources (reliable ones) are much more cheaper than travel agencies/ buying on spot.

1. Should allow to spend more time at 1st island, Pulau Bunting. As we can enjoy more at the lake there.

The boat navigator was young, but knowledgeable. If you are afraid of bumpiness and fear of speed, I suggest you would take the back seat not the front unless you enjoy otherwise. However, we departed quite late not 9am sharp as they are fuelling the boat tank. Weather was sunny that day, unfortunately we couldn’t do snorkelling or swimming at the last island due to high tide and that particular island does not have toilets to clean yourself after playing by the beach. Would suggest you bring extra water, napkin or wet tissue for simple cleaning and make sure do not leave your bag unattended or food exposed as the monkeys there are seriously smart and demanding or might hurt your little kids when they jump and scratches. Preferrably if they allow us to use a proper Jetty to land for each Island. Landing on seashore from a boat can be dangerous for kids and elderly. We were thankful for the group we travelled with has a nice man (a Father with 2 little daughters and a wife) to help each of us to get up and down the boat. Overall, great and fun experience for an affordable price.

This include only boat ride to 3 spots: Dayang Bunting, eagle watching, and Beras Basah. The entrance ticket to the Dayang Bunting is not included (RM3 per adult, kid below 10 years old is free). Eagle watching is just a short stop for 5 minutes. The Beras Basah island need to stop by for an hour. There is not enough seat at the island during crowded time. A snack store selling drinks and snacks. No toilet on the island. The boat is a small boat, so it is kind of dangerous for kids and elders especially during windy and rainy season.

Best thing I did was got the ticket from tripcarte, I waited for 5mins in the line. I’d advise you to reach here by 8:30AM. We were 3 couples in the boat, the guide was a young chap, bi-lingual (Malay & English) . He showed us the nook and corner of the islands, allowed sufficient time to explore each island. Highly recommended to buy tickets in advance

Overall is great but I have to give 3 stars because (1) during the tour to Dyg Bunting Island, the boatman told us to meet again in 1 hour and wait at the jetty. At 11am, we waited at the jetty but he picked most of the passengers by the embankment of the island, me with my husband and the other 2 groups of family are separated from the group and have to ride other boat. (2) We spent less than 3-5 minutes for eagle feeding / eagle watching activities at Pulau Singa, I guess it’s because of the weather but still I’m a bit disappointed not getting longer time for this activity. In the itinerary it says about 20 min for this activity before heading to the next island.

Visiting Tasik Dayang Bunting is very exciting but the time spent there (one hour) not enough to do many activity. Seeing the eagles fetching the foods at Pulau Singa Besar was very exciting too. Good package, friendly boat driver, a bit late of getting into the boat due to waiting other boat passengger to arrive. We start our journey at 9.45 am, 1st we visited tasik dayang bunting (1 hour) with self paid entrance fee rm6 & rm10 (optional) activities such as kayak, swan paddle, swimming, & foot massage. 2nd we visited an island to watch the eagle feeding (only boat driver can feed the eagle) then we watch the eagle fly down to catch the food. Very nice view. 3rd, we visited the pulau beras basah (1 hour), can swim, got self paid activities – banana boat. Got stall selling fresh coconut drinks. But unfortunately, there is no toilet provided in this island. Our tour ends at 1.50pm when we reach back the shore. Tips, free parking or free shuttle from cenang area hotels. Bring extra cash for activities and beverages (optional), you’ll get wet, so bring extra clothes to change after finish all.

This was a poor experience. The jetty area very run down, shabby and disorganized. The one hour visit on the beach was a waste of time, the food stall on the island was run down, dirty and had lousy food and drinks. There was no talk given by the boat driver, just felt like it was a taxi service. Was glad when it was over.

The person in charge is so friendly and helpful. I’ve called them 1 day before the trip and they responded in time. They picked us up around 8.30am and at 9.00am we directly went to Pulau Dayang Bunting. At Pulau Singa, our boat driver fed the eagle with chicken meat and we can see the eagle at a clear distance. Next we went to Pulau Beras Basah to swim. Overall, me and my friend had a great experience with TripCarte.

First stop is pulau dayang bunting.. From buying tickets and short hike up, and down some stairs, at least 15mins gone.. Went boat peddalling, swimming and 1 hr is up..
Eagle watching was too short too.. Less than 10mins… it will be more interesting, if we are allowed to feed the birds..
3rd stop, pulau beras basah.. Again, only 1 hour.. Too short..

Love the trip, was given a free return pick up from hotel. Trip didn’t start on dot, the trip to dayang bunting should extend another 30 mins, too rush for elderly as they need to walk in. Best even though we have to wait around 30 minute from the schedule time because of the ‘air pasang’. One hour at Dayang Bunting is not enough since we have to queue to buy ticket and walk to the lake and it take around 20 – 30 minute if you bring elderly. So, we can only spend around 15 – 20 minute there before we start to walk back.

The experience was really good with the island hopping.
What was disappointing was the middle person who was coordinating the boats with the boatman. Do call them in advance to confirm your trips as they may not reply WhatsApps or SMS. If you do not hear a reply from them, then call them. We had to call them many times until we got hold of Tripcarte, who then I believe called the middle man, following which responded to us.
Overall it was a nice experience.

This is a must do activity in Langkawi. It rained just before our trip and we thought our experience might be ruined. But it exceeded our expectations. It actually covers only 2 islands. We are allowed to enter only the 1st island. 2nd island is eagle feeding, you just see eagles from the boat. 3rd island is a small one. Here you can enter the beach and snorkel (but I didnt see much marine life). Then you return to the jetty.
The ride on the speedboat is really good. The ride was really bumpy and the view was spectacular.

I felt like the boatman was in a rush of time as he quickly drove us to he island and left no much time for us to experience the fun and activities in the islands. Quickly rush us back. Depart from jetty after 9am++ and back to the Jerry before 12pm. Spend very little time there.
However, it’s an exciting visit to 3 islands of Langkawi, P. Dayang Bunting, P. Singa Besar & P. Beras Besar. There is a lake in Dayang Bunting Island. Gotta pay RM3 for entrance and RM10 for lake activities like kayak & swan boat. Eagle feeding in P. Singa Besar & water activities by the beach of P. Beras Basah. Do bring extra clothes if you would like to join those activities 🙂

It was an excellent and exciting experience. They were really good with old people and children by ensuring that they have sat in a safer seat as the boat ride was kind of extreme in a good way. The boat driver informed us what to expect before we started so we were really cautious while enjoying it. He also apologised politely for people who sat at the front when the boat was going up and down even though it was unavoidable because of the waves. He made the ride fun and exciting all the way. It was not a full 4 hours session but it was better than what we expected. Highly recommended!

We arrived on time where I was told to wait with others. The waiting time was quite long, almost 30 minutes which defeat the purpose of us arriving early in the morning. On 1st August 2019, my friend and I got on this boat number 455 if I’m not mistaken. The man that handled/drove the boat was very rude. He drove the boat very fast until our back hurt. I am a Malaysian and had ridden boats in Terengganu, kota kinabalu, pangkor and etc but it was never like this. It was the worst experience ever. There were also 2 ladies that were in their 50’s too on the boat which I’m sure they found the journey horrible. Also, every time the man speaks to us, it was like he was mad or something. He was especially rude to the other tourist and kept shouting “HELLO!! HELLOOO!!” a few times to get their attention instead of the polite “Excuse me”. I bet that he likes to drive the boat really fast because he’s young, but he is responsible to make it a pleasant ride for us paying customers and tourist so he should be more considerate. I’m Malaysian and all the time I kept thinking “this is so embarrassing because that’s what tourist from outside Malaysia think of us, rude and inconsiderate”

There are 3 islands
1. Pulau Dayang Bunting:
– This island is the most exiting one, as there is a lake inside and few activities to be enjoyed.
– You have to buy the lake pass and pay for the activities, but it was only RM13 for me, which is still pretty cheap.
– They only give you an hour of free time, and trust me is not enough for anyone who had ever been there.
– The path to the lake will take you around 5 – 15 minutes, hence you only have 30 – 45 mins for activities.
– Try not to bring along any baggage or items, as it will affect your convenience while playing the aqua activities.
2. Pulau Singa:
– Boat drivers will toss out meat for the eagles, so guests can take pictures of them with a closer distance.
– This island is just to witness the majestic eagles flying above your head.
3. Pulau Beras Basah:
– You can rent a banana boat and jet skis at there.
– On this island you are given an hour, mainly for beach swimming.
My personal favourite is canoeing, swimming and boat riding.
Only cons is that time given is too short.
*purchasing tickets from online sources (reliable ones) are much more cheaper than travel agencies/ buying on spot.

The boat navigator was young, but knowledgeable. If you are afraid of bumpiness and fear of speed, I suggest you would take the back seat not the front unless you enjoy otherwise. However, we departed quite late not 9am sharp as they are fuelling the boat tank. Weather was sunny that day, unfortunately we couldn’t do snorkelling or swimming at the last island due to high tide and that particular island does not have toilets to clean yourself after playing by the beach. Would suggest you bring extra water, napkin or wet tissue for simple cleaning and make sure do not leave your bag unattended or food exposed as the monkeys there are seriously smart and demanding or might hurt your little kids when they jump and scratches. Preferrably if they allow us to use a proper Jetty to land for each Island. Landing on seashore from a boat can be dangerous for kids and elderly. We were thankful for the group we travelled with has a nice man (a Father with 2 little daughters and a wife) to help each of us to get up and down the boat. Overall, great and fun experience for an affordable price.

This include only boat ride to 3 spots: Dayang Bunting, eagle watching, and Beras Basah. The entrance ticket to the Dayang Bunting is not included (RM3 per adult, kid below 10 years old is free). Eagle watching is just a short stop for 5 minutes. The Beras Basah island need to stop by for an hour. There is not enough seat at the island during crowded time. Best thing I did was got the ticket from tripcarte, I waited for 5mins in the line. I’d advise you to reach here by 8:30AM. We were 3 couples in the boat, the guide was a young chap, bi-lingual (Malay & English) . He showed us the nook and corner of the islands, allowed sufficient time to explore each island. Highly recommended to buy tickets in advance

Good and worth it. If you are staying around Cenang you have to drive to Teluk Baru jetty. Can have online chat with their staff. Very helpful and provide good guidances.

Overall is great but I have to give 3 stars because (1) during the tour to Dyg Bunting Island, the boatman told us to meet again in 1 hour and wait at the jetty. At 11am, we waited at the jetty but he picked most of the passengers by the embankment of the island, me with my husband and the other 2 groups of family are separated from the group and have to ride other boat. (2) We spent less than 3-5 minutes for eagle feeding / eagle watching activities at Pulau Singa, I guess it’s because of the weather but still I’m a bit disappointed not getting longer time for this activity. In the itinerary it says about 20 min for this activity before heading to the next island.

They could get the visitors to use a proper Jetty to land for each Island. Landing on seashore from a boat was tricky and dangerous. Besides that, it was a good experience.
