HONDA BAY TOUR
Honda Bay, though a wonder of nature, its beauty is a massively overlooked wonder in Palawan. This picture perfect bay, just a half an hour away from Puerto Princesa lets you soak in all the good vibes, and be in awe on a lush tropical island surrounded by nature. The island is blessed with varied landscapes besides crystal clear water, it’s a haven for activities like snorkelling, swimming, kayaking, or just basking in the cool weather and taking pictures.
Honda Bay Cowrie Island
Cowrie Island, named after the small-to-large sea snail, marine gastropod mollusc called “cowrie”, is an island known for its, obviously, cowrie shells. The island itself boasts a number of cabanas, a pavilion and thatched-roof spa huts, all overlooking the sea and creating a beautiful, picturesque scene for shutterbugs. More of a party and touristy beach destination, there are a plethora of activities you can do here. The island has volleyball nets and many water activities around. It also doesn’t shy away from its long row of bars! It would be quite the common sight for you to see crowds of people in the bars having fun with their alcoholic beverages in their hands. Enjoy a hearty lunch with local favorites at the buffet spread – warning, enjoy too much of the good food, you’d be a beach bum.
Starfish Island
As the name states, Starfish Island is literally an island filled with starfishes! You will lose count of the number of starfishes you encounter on this island. The crystal-clear water makes it a bonus when you snorkel and view the starfishes up close. Given how clear the water is in Starfish Island, the bottom of the sea may not look as deep as it appears to be. It ultimately makes the sight of the underwater world down below much more fascinating and colourful for your sight. The starfishes everywhere paint pictures of looking up at the stars at night, except it’s into the water with daylight instead. Starfishes aside, you could explore further and deeper from the shore to see many more colorful fishes and reefs, but there wouldn’t be as many starfishes as it would be near the shore. Plus, if explored around the shore a little, you will find one side of the shore with plenty of sea urchins!
Luli Island
This stop has more of a “light” water activity for one to soak up the island fun – like diving board, cliff-jumping, snorkeling, and more. For a relaxing option, you can go to a shop and buy a bag of minced bread and feed the colourful fishes. See how they swim all towards you for the bread and you will feel like Ariel from The Little Mermaid, once in a lifetime at least! To absorb the beauty of Luli Island, hop on a diving board and ride along the waves and savour the view of its stunning clear blue water at the edge.
