Melawati Hill (Bukit Melawati)
Established as a pleasing tourism hotspot that includes a lighthouse and historical fortress, the main reason to go uphill is to catch sight of the silver-leafed monkeys and long-tailed macaques. These monkeys are agile, gentle, playful and will delight you with their mischievous charm. The silver-leafed monkeys are unique in nature as they are only found in a few countries, Malaysia being one of them.

Kuala Selangor Lighthouse
Also known as Altingsburg Lighthouse, this lighthouse played an integral part in navigating ships across the peninsula from 1907 until today. It is 27-meters high and its light can be seen 18 nautical miles away. Even though you can’t go inside, that doesn’t mean you can’t snap some lovely pictures of the lighthouse.

Kuala Selangor Historical Museum
Not far from the Kuala Selangor Lighthouse lies this museum. It contains displays of weapons, dioramas, specimens of old currencies and other relics and artefacts. Do linger a bit to learn more about the historical significance of the site and admire the ancient artefacts.

Kuala Selangor Fireflies Boat Ride
Twinkle, twinkle, fireflies. Spend the night in the quiet tranquility of mother nature. These brilliant little creatures illuminate the night sky that you might be forgiven thinking they are stars. Be mindful not to take flash photos and make loud noises as it would disrupt the fireflies. Firefly fact, male fireflies’ flashes are brighter so as to attract the females, and in the case of this species you’ll see, their flashing is synchronized, which is rare in other firefly species.
