DEERLAND & ELEPHANT SANCTUARY (PRIVATE TOUR)

Escape the city and embark on a day trip to Malaysia’s best nature sights. Climb the 130-million-year-old Batu Caves and enjoy its view from the top. Marvel at the mighty elephants at Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary and learn about the sanctuary’s rehabilitation and relocation efforts. Then feed the Javan Rusa deer and get close and personal with the Sika deer and mouse-deer at Deerland Park.

Deerland & Elephant Sanctuary (Private Tour) invites you to explore:

Batu Caves
This popular place of worship for the Hindu devotees is packed with tourists (and fat pigeons). The Batu Caves is said to be built with a series of limestone caves that are over 400 million years old, now that’s ancient. The massive golden statue of Lord Muruga guards the entrance of the main cave glints ethereally against the cloudy sky. Brace yourself, going up the stairs, you may catch sight of some monkeys.

There are 272 steps up to reach the main cave. This uphill battle may have catching your breath along the way and that’s totally fine. On the way up is the entrance to the Dark Cave – popular for its amazing rock formations formed over thousands of years. When you’ve reached the peak, you are promised a breath-taking sight that makes the climb all worth it. As you make your descent from the cave’s mouth, enjoy the gorgeous vista.

Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary
This Elephant Sanctuary is a golden opportunity for you to be educated more about elephants as well as to meet and greet them up-close and personal. The activities with the elephants commence at 2.00 pm with introductions of the sanctuary’s elephants. You will be amused by the elephants’ intelligence and delightful personalities. Though each elephant has a different character and temperament, they all have something in common where each will show off a bit of their talents. You can also interact with the elephants by touching and feeding them local produce. This activity is sure to bring joy to your heart. Don’t forget to take plenty of pictures to keep as memories or reminders of the sanctuary’s important and noble work.

Deerland Park
The deer enclosure in Deerland park provides a huge space for the deer to move about freely. In no time, you will find yourself feeding the deer in the front area of the park’s enclosure. You get to witness deer like the Javan Rusa deer, Sika deer, and mouse deer. While deer are gentle in nature, some might get a bit too frisky! So be mindful when playing with them at this sanctuary. Alternatively, you can also observe others such as Golden Pheasant, Bengal Cat, Rabbits, Parakeets, Burmese Pythons and few others. It’s like wandering in a tropical forest and encountering animals along the way. There is also a small gift shop selling cold drinks, photographs and souvenir paraphernalia to help support this sanctuary.
