King’s Palace (National Palace)
Surrounded by a beautiful park, green lawns and ponds, the King’s Palace, is the official residence of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, a Malay title usually translated as “Supreme Head”. Catch a glimpse of its magnificence and ostentation from outside the main gate where the Royal Guards, suited in white Malay as well as red British inspired uniforms, are guarding the main gate on horse and on foot.

National Monument
Built in remembrance of the fallen ‘soldiers’ during the fight for freedom to independence in Malaysia, this monumental statue represents the general freedom in Malaysia. The base of the monument is made from granite and bears the Malayan Coat of Arms, of which both sides are engraved with the inscription: “Dedicated to the heroic fighters in the cause of peace and freedom; May the blessing of Allah be upon them.” Interestingly, our national anthem is typically associated with this.

Lake Gardens
Also known as Tun Abdul Razak Heritage Park, you can view around the park with the daily shuttle tram services. With plenty of walking paths and trees providing shade, this park makes it simple for visitors to explore on foot too. Great for nature lovers and families.

Independence Square
Undoubtedly KL’s prominent landmark, it is here that the Union Flag was lowered, and the Malaysian flag hoisted for the first time at midnight on 31st August 1957 and was proclaimed “independent”. Despite countless changes to its landscape, Kuala Lumpur has retained its majestic charm with Independence Square and its colonial surroundings at its heart. Even more impressive, there is an old ornamental fountain brought in from Britain in pieces and assembled in 1897.

National Mosque
As one of Southeast Asia’s largest mosques, its unique modern design embodies a contemporary expression of traditional Islamic art, calligraphy and ornamentation. Its acclaimed architecture design is open and inviting – you have plenty of space to roam about. It’s also worth to note the mosque pays homage to Prophet Muhammad’s home from the 7th century Saudi Arabia.

Railway Headquarters
The Kuala Lumpur Railway Station is an almost fairy-tale Moorish-style building that incorporates both Eastern and Western influence. The marvellous façade of this building makes it a preferred sightseeing attraction in Kuala Lumpur. Especially with its open-plan Renaissance-like buildings and spacious verandas with arched colonnades, people just love to take pictures here.

KLCC Photoshoot
This KLCC photo stop lets you view the Petronas Twin Towers – a symbol of Malaysia’s progress and achievements, this dual wonder rises majestically against the Kuala Lumpur city skyline. Take a stroll around KLCC park as there are some fantastic vantage points to get photos of the towers. Other than that, it can be lovely to find a spot to sit and watch the diverse walks of life enjoying this place too.
