Kidzania is an edutainment centre designed to prepare kids for the workplace. Resembling a mini-city, with child-sized replicas of office buildings and cars, kids get to take turns ‘working’ in over 90 different types of jobs, including pretending to be a surgeon, pilot, secret agent, lawyer, news anchor and firefighter.

Kids at the simulated News Straits Times Press office are given the task of roaming the ‘city’ to find news to write and publish or deliver copies of the paper around the city or collect them for recycling. 5. Skytrex Adventure | Shah Alam

Skytrex Adventure is an educational adventure activity for everyone to enjoy. Skytrex Adventure is a tree canopy tour where visitors go on an exhilarating ride through the forest on flying fox ziplines (over two lakes). You can balance on tree logs high in the air and take in the forest canopy view spy from platforms nestled in the trees. 6. Berjaya Times Square Theme Park | Bukit Bintang

Berjaya Times Square Theme Park, situated within Berjaya Times Square shopping mall, is the largest indoor theme park in Kuala Lumpur. It is laid out in classic amusement park-style and divided into two zones: one for adults and one for kids.

If you are in the mood for a hair-raising roller coaster experience, then thrilling rides such as the 800-metre long Supersonic Odyssey roller coaster and DNA Mixer come highly recommended. i-City Theme Park, also known as the City of Digital Lights, is a theme park in Shah Alam best known for its colourful nightly display of LED-lit attractions. It is home to a range of exciting and family-friendly activities such as a water park, 3D museum and snow park. One of i-City Theme Park’s significant highlights is a ‘forest’ of artificial maple and pine trees with branches illuminated with LED lights.

Resembling a colourful funfair in Coney Island, US, the theme park also has a massive Ferris wheel, a two-tiered carousel, carnivalesque game booths, stalls selling candy floss and other snacks. 9. District 21 Kuala Lumpur | Putrajaya

District 21 Kuala Lumpur is an adventure theme park set within IOI City Mall Putrajaya, where visitors of all ages can enjoy various challenging obstacle courses. Spanning over 6,500 square metres, the indoor theme park features a post-apocalyptic setting with plenty of metal beams, steel walls and colourful graffiti, as well as suspended ropes, chains, and platforms.

Visitors will first pass through a two-step decontamination chamber, where they are provided with protective gloves and non-slip socks (as shoes are not permitted for certain rides) while staff brief them on the theme park’s rules and safety precautions. Fitted with LED-lit climbing walls, high-speed slides, trampolines, and aerial obstacle courses, District 21 Kuala Lumpur boasts 11 attractions with varying difficulty levels.

10. Kuala Lumpur National Zoo & Aquarium | Ampang

Kuala Lumpur National Zoo and Aquarium spans over 110 acres around a central lake. It houses over 5,000 specimens from 476 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Also known as the Zoo Negara, the zoo is also home to two highly-endangered giant pandas hailing from Sichuan, which you can catch a glimpse of behind a massive glass panel.
