We’re all familiar with the phrase ‘’Malaysia, truly Asia (aaaa)’’, but have you ever wondered what really makes Malaysia truly Asia?
This south-east Asian country is multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi lingual. Most definitely a ‘kaleidoscope of culture and heritage’! Chinese, Indian, Arabic; the influences are many in terms of culture and a trip to Malaysia will definitely bear testimony to it.
So here’s a glimpse of Malaysia, a place that has a little bit of everything.
Central Market, Kuala Lumpur
Located at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock (Foch Avenue) and the pedestrian-only section of Jalan Hang Kasturi (Rodger Street), the central Market is a heritage site and a landmark of Malaysian culture and heritage. Called the ‘’Pasar Budaya’’, this building is used as a wet market (an Asian fresh food market) for city residents. The main building (Annexe Central Market) is a hub of art galleries, theaters and music performances, craft displays and stores – both local and international!
